No Rhyme to His Reason

Busta Rhymes has failed me. The concert that I was going to attend at University of California, Riverside tomorrow evening has been cancelled.

The best show I have ever seen was at Street Scene in the summer of 2002 in San Diego. Busta Rhymes was the last show of the evening. I wasn’t expecting much from his performance. I didn’t really remember many of his songs and generally wasn’t into him. But from the moment he went on till the time when he was done, he had the audience captivated. Every song was like a distant relative who I had long forgotten but enjoyed the company of. I could feel the energy level of the crowd throughout my body. This moment will never, in my current opinion, be matched by another concert. Anup can attest to all that I have said here. He was lucky enough to be there with me.

Why do you fail me Busta? Is your new found record label, Aftermath, to blame? Is it due to school budget cuts? Sadly any provided answer will not heal my wounds. It is my mission to know a Busta Rhymes live performance again. This is just a setback to my mission.

The Pats

I have come to accept the Patriots of football. In the past I have expressed my disappointment in their winning. I have offered my disgust in the way they seem to win big games in an anti-climactic matter, making the games no fun for the fan. But I can no longer find the energy to dismiss what the Patriots are doing.

The Patriots are one of the greatest football teams of our time. Everyone loved the high paced offense the Rams showed us, coming in the form of “The Greatest Show on Turf.” Why did people love the Rams? People love to see an offense that can pick apart a defense, any defense, in an outright manner. The Patriots don’t have that type of offense. The best weapon that the Patriots have on offense is Cory Dillon, and they didn’t have this weapon last year. He just increases their dominance.

The Patriots will win the super bowl. The Eagles have an explosive offensive tandem in McNabb and Owens. This tandem makes the Eagles offense exciting. But it won’t be enough. The Eagles best weapon is their defense. But this defense won’t be able to keep the Patriots out of range of a Vinatieri field goal. The Patriots love to win by a field goal and Vinatieri has the most points in the NFL this season.

Not even Chunky Soup can help you this time Donovan. Pats by 3 (will not cover the spread but will win a championship)

Funny Quotes

The brain and voice behind these quotes will remain anonymous until such a time when the author deems it to be appropriate.

“She’s not a small girl; she’s not a big girl; she’s a good girl”

“I am Superman and sex is my Kryptonite”

And there you have it.

How I Tripped Out

Scenario: 8AM ICS 142.

Background Information: It is the third day of ICS 142 lecture. I tried to crash ICS 180 but decided not to; I went to the class once. The professors from ICS 142 and ICS 180 both have heavy German accents.

Story: The professor comes in about two minutes late. He says ‘I don’t know if professor Franz told you but I will be lecturing for him today.’ He did not introduce himself; he went strait into his lecture. At this point I was thinking that he was playing a trick on all of us and was speaking in third person. So I was tripping, I was about to ask why he was referring to himself in third person. Then about thirty minutes later he says, ‘Professor Franz went over…..last lecture.’ At this point all I could think of was the fact that this guy was speaking in the third person. Suddenly it came to me, this guy was the professor from ICS 180; this wasn’t Professor Franz. The rest of the lecture I felt stupid and realized that I needed to go back to bed.

I then realized that if I ever become a Professor I am going to pull this trick on my students. The second day of class I will come in and speak in third person. It is a great sociological experiment.

I found an interesting Google search that allows you to search only US government run websites. It is pretty interesting. http://www.google.com/unclesam
